After the launch of Retourvignet®, the initiative of the three entrepreneurs from the Netherlands was extensively reported by the national media.
Besides a news item in the half-eight news on RTL4 on 5 December, there was plenty of attention from RTL Z, Emerce, Fashion United, logistiek.nl and regional newspapers such as Tubantia, de Gelderlander and de Stentor. All media attention says enough about the fact that the Netherlands is ready to tackle the number of returns and their abuse.
Of course, we at Retourvignet are happy with this publicity, but above all we are very pleased with the attention it is receiving, to tackle return abuse together with e-commerce parties. An important first step towards the awareness we want to create. We have already been able to schedule discussions with a number of large parties in, among others, the fashion, sports, tools and bicycle sectors. Several companies from the e-commerce top 100, whereby the first official customer, a web shop with several major clothing brands, has already placed a large order.
Many consumers and entrepreneurs have reacted positively to the publications on their social media channels. Consumers in particular have been woken up and sometimes even shocked by the fact that fellow consumers are able to order items online to wear/use them for an occasion and then unashamedly return them to get their money back. Entrepreneurs are happy with the new initiative to jointly tackle return abuse.
The many reactions, registrations and already more than 200 demo kit requests show all the more that we are tired of the current return convenience in the Netherlands, and that it needs to be addressed to reduce costs for web shops and the impact on the environment.
